Odisha Buddhist Tour
Odisha, historically known for the powerful Kalinga Empire, became a pivotal center for Buddhism after the Kalinga War. Following his victory, Emperor Ashoka converted to Buddhism and dedicated himself to promoting its message of peace and harmony. To this end, he built numerous Buddhist structures, including stupas, monasteries, and caves.
An Odisha Buddhist tour offers a perfect opportunity to explore these ancient sites and find tranquility away from the city’s noise. The tour package includes visits to several key locations: the Odisha State Museum, which houses Buddhist sculptures; the ancient Khandagiri and Udayagiri caves; and Dhauli, famous for Ashoka’s rock edicts and the Peace Pagoda. The itinerary also features significant Buddhist monasteries at Lalitigiri, Ratnagiri, and Langudi Giri, as well as Kayam Hill and other ancient temples and architectural sites in the region.
